With over 30 years experience in the motor trade, from a large dealership to motor racing, cars and motorcycles are our hobby and life!
We first became interested with this technology 6 years ago. We began by building an Electrolyser from a Mason's storage jar, perspex and some stainless steel wire. Like the one on the shown here. The results were not great.
More of a hobby than a business at first, we experimented to try and improve on this basic process. At the time the owner of Hydrotechnix, Richard Bird, as a qualified fitter, was installing LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) systems trading as Southern Autogas. Hundreds of company and individuals cars were converted to LPG in this time. These LPG systems were expensive, took a couple of days to fit and with large gas containers, load space in the vehicle was compromised. Hydrogen systems had none of these disadvantages. This was the appeal and driving force to perfect a safe, inexpensive and easy to fit Hydrogen system. For the next 3 years, in our spare time, we experimented on various electrolytes, hoses, fittings, wiring solutions, unit design etc. Until we arrived at the wet cell unit shown below.
The system needed a stronger, higher output unit to cut down on the amount of Hydrogenerators needed. We came up with the unit below. This held one and a half litres of electrolyte. Being a 'wet cell' it still had the inherent problems of the earlier cell, overheating and loss of output when the level dropped.
.
Through extensive research and development we came up with the units we use today. These are of a dry cell configuration. These eliminated all of the problems with the earlier wet cells.
For the last 2 years, we have gained vast experience converting customers cars, covering a huge range of engines. This year we are now passing on our vast knowledge and experience to others, offering training, products and support to like minded people, wishing to build a profitable, growing business.
Richard has been asked to be the Secretary and Technical Expert by the HHO club (www.hhoclub.co.uk) which should help awareness of individuals and companies who wish to build safe, working units and seek advice when they have problems.
We have recently joined the newly formed AFA (www.alternativefuelassociation.org) We believe strongly in the need for alternative fuels and applaud any organisation that advances our cause to help the planet.
We have now become the official supplier of fuel cells and upgrade installers to a local vehicle manufacturing company Car1 (www.car1.es). We look forward to a mutually prosperous partnership with this company.
We have just taken delivery of the first Electronic ECU enhancer that can overcome the extra fueling produced by diesel vehicles with engine management. We are the first company in the world to overcome this problem.
Our aims for 2012 are to:
1/ Build an Installer Network across the UK. This Network will eventually serve every region of the UK.
2/ Expand futher into the boat, truck, bus and train market
3/ Continue to research cell systems and further perfect our existing techniques.
4/ To promote HHO as viable alternative energy.
5/ To provide standards for quality, safety and integrity for this industry.
The DC3. A dry cell system with 32 plates. It is capable of powering vehicles up to 8.0 Litre, either Petrol or Diesel, V8, V10, V12, etc. It can supply hydrogen to large trucks to Supercars!
